We’re proud to say that our 50+ nature-inspired shades of Australian nail polish are non-toxic, vegan-certified, and 100% cruelty-free. We hope that by keeping to and sharing our principles, we can inspire other Australian brands to follow suit.

Sustainability

At Sienna, we hold ourselves to high standards regarding sustainability and ethics. This is why we create 100% vegan nail polish with a plant-based formula that includes sugar cane, manioc, cotton, corn, and other raw ingredients. We also never have and never will test our nail polish on animals. Creating high-quality vegan and cruelty-free products is our top priority. Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it. Sienna is incredibly proud to be accredited by multiple independent, internationally recognised auditing bodies for our ethical approach to beauty products. This list of auditing bodies includes B corp, Cruelty Free International, Vegan Society, Safe Cosmetics Australia, and more.

Healthy Planet, Healthy Bodies

Our Australian nail polish isn’t just vegan and cruelty-free; it’s also benzophenone-1 free and naturally derived. More notably, it’s the first glitter-free and nanoparticle-free nail polish in the world. So, why did we do this? Glitters are a pollutant that can negatively impact the environment and animal health. When inhaled, nanoparticles have the potential to cause lung inflammation and heart problems. We’ve removed these substances because the health of the planet and our customers is important to us. To make our products as eco-friendly as possible, we also use 100% recyclable packaging and operate an in-house recycling program. With the latter, we hope to encourage customers to return their empties if they choose to do so. And we accept any brand!

Ethical Production with Green Science

We are a proudly Australian brand, and we manufacture the bulk of our nail polish in Australia and France. When researching raw ingredients and plant-based formulas, we quickly realised our products would have to be manufactured by the best in the business, and they’re in Europe. Our Australian manufcaturers use the high quality ingredients from our French manufacturers to produce some of our colours here. The key ingredients that form the base of our nail polish need to be synthesised through green innovation. The raw ingredients and technology we need must meet our standards for sustainable and ethical production. By working with our French manufacturer, we can ensure they’re made using the best green science in pristine facilities with complete traceability for our ingredients.

Low Carbon Footprint

One of the benefits of manufacturing our Australian nail polish in France is that it’s direct with our raw ingredients manufacturers and 100% of any wastewater is treated. This allows us to keep our carbon footprint low. We also use 100% renewable energy at our warehouse and our head office. All our power is sourced from an ethical company that is well-known for its strong environmental and community credentials.
