Celebrating with Earth Cake; Sienna turns 11

For our beautiful Sienna’s 11th birthday, we wanted to celebrate in a way that felt true to us — eating cake that is nourishing, beautiful, and made with heart. We met Jana of The Secret Kitchen, who crafted one of her incredible organic earth cakes to match our signature soft spring palette.

If you’ve seen Jana’s creations before, you’ll know they are so much more than cakes. They’re edible works of art — elegant, delicious, and made from the most wholesome ingredients. As a naturopath, Jana brings her deep love of healthy eating and natural living into every recipe. Even the smallest detail tells a story of care and respect for what goes into our bodies (have a peek at the ingredients list — it’s as beautiful as the cake itself).

But what made the day truly special was the time we spent with her. We sat on the front stoop of her big old Queenslander, chickens Daisy and Marigold pecking around our feet, cups of tea in hand. The morning flowed easily between laughter and honesty — about family, heritage, the strange reality of living life online, and how even those closest to us sometimes mistake the curated Instagram feed for the whole story.

Jana is originally from the Czech Republic and we chatted about Europe and heritage and how language connects us in unexpected ways, and traditions can quietly shape the way we move through the world.

As we left, with the taste of cake still lingering and the warmth of conversation in our hearts, it struck us: this was more than just a birthday treat. It was a moment of connection — with food, with family, with honesty, and with the people who make life feel grounded and true.

We’re so grateful to Jana for sharing her magic with us. She’s not just a cake maker — she’s a storyteller, a naturopath, and a true cake magician.
